CEFA (the Seed of Solidarity), a non-governmental organization dedicated to defeating hunger and poverty, is seeking a Field Coordinator for the "GROW – Gender-Responsive Opportunities for Water Access, Livelihood Recovery and Climate Resilience for Vulnerable Communities" project in West Pokot County. Funded by AICS and implemented in partnership with Perur Rays of Hope, the project focuses on improving living conditions and resilience in ASAL areas through WASH services, food security, agriculture, pastoral livelihoods, and disaster risk reduction (DRR).
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Field Coordinator will coordinate and monitor project implementation in West Pokot County, ensuring technical quality and compliance with CEFA and AICS procedures. This role involves supervising local staff, facilitating coordination with government authorities, and providing technical support across WASH, Agriculture, and DRR components.
Key Responsibilities
Field Coordination: Supervise daily local operational staff, organize workloads, and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
Project Implementation: Guarantee timely execution of activities in WASH, Agriculture/Food Security, and DRR according to work plans.
Stakeholder Management: Maintain constructive relations with local authorities, government offices, and technical agencies, representing the project in technical working groups.
Partner Collaboration: Work closely with the implementing partner to ensure alignment with strategies and timely resolution of critical issues.
Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and update action plans and M&E systems; collect data and produce periodic progress reports for the Project Manager.
Capacity Building: Design and validate training materials for staff, partners, and beneficiaries regarding WASH and sustainable agriculture.
Administrative Support: Assist with procurement, tender procedures, and financial documentation to ensure transparency and compliance with donor (AICS) guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Cooperation, Engineering, Agriculture, or equivalent disciplines.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a project or technical coordinator, preferably in emergency contexts or rural development.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Project Cycle Management (PCM) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Language: Excellent English; knowledge of the Pokot language is an asset.
Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and a collaborative team orientation.
Assets: A valid Kenyan motorcycle riding license (Class A2) and willingness to ride in remote areas is highly desirable.
