Role Overview
The Field Collection Agent is responsible for monitoring and recovering defaulted loans. This involves managing assigned accounts, planning recovery strategies, and maintaining professional relationships with customers while ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and follow up on assigned defaulted accounts through calls, chats, and face-to-face visits.
Ensure all client interactions and progress are accurately logged in the system.
Plan and execute effective recovery strategies to ensure timely repayment of loans.
Conduct skip-tracing to locate customers and recover loans or initiate collateral repossession when necessary.
Negotiate repayment plans with customers while remaining courteous and professional.
Participate in and support team-wide collection drives and initiatives.
Maintain strong customer relationships even while enforcing loan recovery.
Submit regular (daily, weekly, and monthly) collection reports to management.
Provide actionable market intelligence from various branches to improve recovery rates.
Maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement for recovery assistance.
Adhere to all recovery policies, procedures, and relevant laws.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree (BA/BSc) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field.
Experience: While not explicitly required, previous experience in debt collection, field operations, or finance-related roles is beneficial.
Compliance: Ability to adhere to recovery policies and legal frameworks.
Communication: Strong negotiation and professional communication skills.
