The Environment Sustainability Analyst at Diageo (EABL) will be responsible for executing and maintaining initiatives that ensure compliance with environmental legislation and EABL’s Risk Management Policies, Strategy, and Standards. The role involves driving improved performance and maintaining regular contact with external service agencies such as the County Council, emergency and rescue services, DOHSS, NEMA, KEBS, external risk auditors, and corporate system auditors.
Key Responsibilities
Waste Management & Circular Economy
Lead the review of waste vendor scopes and the tendering process.
Ensure waste is adequately segregated, transported, and disposed of according to regulatory and best practice requirements.
Provide day-to-day oversight for waste vendors.
Drive circular economy and industrial symbiosis initiatives.
Standards and Assurance
Embed TPO GRMS and EABL standards through development, implementation support, auditing, and monitoring.
Coordinate and ensure the delivery of scheduled audits and validation of standards across sites.
Drive environment data assurance site audits and install controls for data accuracy at collection points.
Data Management and Insights
Collect, review, and consolidate environmental data (waste, water, energy, and production numbers) for reporting.
Derive insights from data to develop dashboards that communicate and drive continual improvement.
Maintain and report data on approved EABL/site platforms.
Compliance & Regulatory
Undertake legislative compliance reviews of all applicable regulations.
Manage regulatory compliance reporting and license applications.
Derive insights from legislative compliance assessments to create programs ensuring ongoing compliance.
Deliver annual statutory audits and drive internal ISO audits.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science (BSC) in Environment, Engineering, or relevant Science disciplines.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
At least 3 years of experience in middle management or Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) support roles.
Proven experience in systems processes within the FMCG industry.
Practical skills in systems and standards development and application.
Skills and Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of ISO management systems, specifically ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Excellent knowledge of local Kenyan regulatory requirements (NEMA, KEBS, DOHSS).
Strong functional and technical knowledge of waste management and environmental sustainability.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
