Role Overview\n\nThe Engineer 1 (Civil) role involves the identification, feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction of water infrastructure. The objective is to increase service coverage from diverse water sources including rivers, lakes, and ground water, as well as the development and expansion of sanitation, water harvesting, and storage systems.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n\n- Designing, installing and maintaining engineering services in water works.\n- Supervising installation work carried out by contractors to ensure compliance with specifications.\n- Preparing requisitions and specifications for new equipment and processing tenders.\n- Controlling funds and materials issued to a unit; project costing and budgetary preparations.\n- Documenting and managing contracts; ensuring professional standards and undertaking quality control.\n- Preparing technical specifications and evaluation of tenders for vehicles, plant, and equipment; drafting general layout drawings for new workshops and improvements.\n- Maintaining records and preparing reports on testing programs for vehicles and plants; implementing equipment management systems; maintaining and submitting updated inventory of vehicles and plant equipment.\n- Participating in detailed investigations for water development projects, feasibility studies, and detailed designs; preparing project proposals and concept notes.\n- Monitoring the implementation and timely delivery of outsourced water planning and design projects; ensuring compliance with water standards, codes of practice, and environmental and social safeguards.\n- Participating in water site visits, meetings, and presentations; tracking construction schedules and associated costs.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n\n- Cumulative service period of three (3) years relevant work experience as an Engineer II or in a comparable position.\n- Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Structural Engineering, or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution.\n- Registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).\n- Proficiency in computer applications.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified persons are requested to submit their applications together with their current curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, and testimonials.\n\n\n\n- All applications must be submitted in .\n- Submit your applications with a clear job reference to:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApplications must be received on or before .\n\n Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
