Role Overview
This is a full-time position for a Driver based in Nairobi, serving Handicap International (HI) in Kenya. The main purpose of the role is to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for HI staff, visitors, and goods, coupled with responsible vehicle maintenance and administration.
Handicap International (HI) Mandate in Kenya
In Kenya, Handicap International works to improve the living conditions of people with disabilities and advance their rights, with a special focus on refugee-related issues. Working in Kenya since 1992, Handicap International currently employs 80 local staff and three expatriates.
Key Responsibilities (Your Mission)
Provide transportation services to HI staff, visitors, and goods as required.
Perform all driving duties of HI vehicles as required, adhering strictly to road safety and organizational policies.
Be responsible for the general maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
Monitor and maintain accurate vehicle records, including mileage logs and service booking documentation.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
Educational Background and Experience
Secondary Certificate (KCSE) level qualification is required.
Must possess Basic mechanical skills necessary for routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
Demonstrate Excellent Driving skills acquired over a minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience.
Technical Competencies
Proven Driving Skills.
Proficiency in performing Minor repair and maintenance tasks on vehicles.
Possession of Basic first aid skills is required.
Strong knowledge and adherence to Security and safety protocols relevant to transportation operations.
