Job Description
The Director of Community Learning is a pivotal senior leadership role accountable for ensuring Blue Ventures’ global community training content is strategic, technically excellent, and ready to scale. The role supports partners and communities to deliver high-impact, rights-based marine conservation and small-scale fisheries outcomes.
Role and Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership for Blue Ventures' digital learning platform and broader training offer.
Content Stewardship: Lead the development and stewardship of technical frameworks, guidance, and curricula across key programme pillars: Community-Based Fisheries Management, Secure Rights, Food Security, and Financial Inclusion.
Quality Assurance: Drive quality assurance, ensuring learning products are coherent, engaging, and practically usable in real-world delivery contexts.
Standards Compliance: Ensure content is evidence-informed, grounded in lived community experience, and aligned with organizational standards, including safeguarding and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion).
Team Management: Line-manage a multidisciplinary team of subject-matter experts.
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Training and Learning team and collaborate across regional and country programmes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a BA/BSc/HND qualification in a relevant field.
Experience: Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within training, education, or community development sectors.
Domain Expertise: Deep technical understanding of marine conservation, small-scale fisheries, or related environmental fields.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with digital learning platforms and educational technology.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic quality standards.
