About the Role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a highly analytical Data Analyst to join the Monitoring, Evaluation, Technology, Accountability, and Learning (METAL) Unit. The METAL Unit is responsible for supporting the Crisis Response and Recovery Development (CRRD) department to foster a culture of strong data and evidence use through stewardship of the Data & Performance Ecosystem, and for coordinating successful piloting and uptake of innovative technology solutions.
This role will focus on bringing together data across core business systems to support data-driven insights for CRRD staff. The Data Analyst will respond to inquiries from CRRD leadership asking how to utilize multiple complex internal datasets and databases (spanning budgets, spending data, win rates, grants tracking, and programmatic data) to provide management insights into whether strategic goals are being achieved and where resources should be allocated.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and reports to track program and strategy performance by pulling grants, finance, and program data across IRC's core business systems (Integra, OTIS, Salesforce, and PID). Analyze and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights informing global program strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (programs, fundraising, marketing, and finance) to ensure data is effectively represented to meet stakeholder needs.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to enhance data collection and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with global goals. Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging analytics tools. Collaborate with fellow Analytics colleagues to ensure best practices in coding, statistics, and general analysis.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field.
- 3+ years working in the field of data analytics.
- 2+ years of experience in international humanitarian aid or development.
- Proven experience with enterprise datasets, including technical skills across the data stack: cloud lakehouse platforms (Databricks preferred), Python, SQL, dbt or equivalent transformation tooling, pipeline orchestration, and BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Demonstrable experience planning and executing complex analytics projects across multiple stakeholders.
- More than 2 years of professional experience with Power BI.
- Strong data visualization and communication skills with the ability to tell a story with numbers across PowerPoints, dashboards, memos, and presentations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Desirable / Growth Areas
- Experience with Databricks and dbt.

- Standard office environment (Hybrid: Nairobi).
