This role involves serving as the County Chief Officer for the Livestock and Fisheries Department within the Trans Nzoia County Government. The Chief Officer is the authorized and accounting officer in the department, reporting directly to the respective County Executive Committee Member.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties for the Chief Officer include:
- Administration of the county department.
- Formulation and implementation of programs designed to achieve Vision 2030 and sector goals.
- Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans.
- Implementation of policies and regulations.
- Providing strategic policy direction for effective service delivery.
- Ensuring comprehensive compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
- Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than 10 years in the relevant field, five (5) of which must be in a senior/managerial position in a large organization.
- Must be registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).
