Job Description
The Consumer Planning Manager is responsible for providing essential insights to the business to sharpen activities and support the team in delivering the overall company strategy.
Role Responsibilities
Market Research and Consumer Insight Generation
Identify gaps in consumer and retail information, either directly or through liaison with team members, and translate these into necessary research projects.
Prepare detailed research briefs for external agencies.
Instruct and monitor research agencies handling consumer and retail research on behalf of the company, ensuring compliance, timely execution, quality, and on-budget outputs.
Interpret research information and generate/compile user-friendly summary reports for internal consumption.
Disseminate market and consumer insights effectively within the company.
Market Planning
Manage and coordinate the preparation of marketing plans for the company, ensuring strict compliance with marketing strategy, policies, and timelines.
Provide necessary statistical support through information and data required for the preparation of planning and business reviews.
Manage the analysis of performance data and disseminate this information to the commercial team and other internal users.
Inter-departmental Coordination
Collaborate closely with Legal and Finance departments to ensure the compliance agenda is delivered by providing relevant information and data.
Share market and consumer research information with Sales, Finance, and Supply teams to enable these functions to focus their business development activities and benefit from all available business-building opportunities.
Work closely with Finance regarding budget tracking, variance analysis, and related financial reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a research degree in Business or Finance (desirable). The role requires 4-5 years of proven successful experience in Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, or Planning within a commercial setting. Essential attributes include strategic penetration, commercial exposure, and understanding, IT literacy in Excel and statistical analysis software, and strong interpersonal skills capable of managing and executing cross-functional projects and teams effectively.
