Information about the Role
The Social Media Associate will support the PR department through brand awareness efforts by creating, scheduling, and monitoring content across all social media platforms. This role is responsible for helping grow our digital presence, engage with our online community, and drive meaningful traffic and conversions through strategic content and campaigns.
Responsibilities and Duties
Content Management: Responsible for creating and publishing engaging content across all relevant platforms, maintaining a consistent brand voice and posting schedule.
Community Engagement: Manage day-to-day community interactions, including responding to comments and messages, and actively engaging with followers to build a strong online presence.
Campaign Collaboration: Support campaign execution in collaboration with marketing and design teams, ensuring content aligns with broader company objectives and branding.
Performance Tracking: Monitor performance metrics such as engagement, reach, and follower growth, providing regular reports with insights and recommendations for optimization.
Trend Monitoring: Stay current with platform trends, tools, and best practices, continuously suggesting innovative content ideas to keep the brand relevant and engaging.
Brand Integrity: Play a key role in ensuring a positive and consistent brand image online.
Academic Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, digital media or a related field.
Required Experience
1–3 years of hands-on experience managing social media platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok) in a professional setting.
Proven ability to create and schedule engaging content, including writing captions, basic graphic design (e.g. using Canva or Adobe tools), and short-form video editing (e.g. Reels, TikTok).
Experience using social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, Sprout Social, or similar).
Familiarity with analytics and reporting to track performance metrics and interpret insights to optimize strategy.
Understanding of brand voice, tone, and visual consistency across various social platforms.
Knowledge of current social media trends, platform algorithms, and audience behavior.
Experience with paid social advertising, influencer collaborations, or content planning for campaigns.
Strong content writing skills and the ability to live-tweet or create content in real-time.
Good article writing and journalistic skills, including sourcing information and conducting research.
Competencies and Attributes
High level of personal integrity and professionalism.
Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or mobile video editing apps.
Basic knowledge of SEO for social and digital marketing.
