Role Overview
As a Communications Intern, you will work under the supervision of substantive experts to support the Secretariat's communication efforts, specifically surrounding major annual meetings and global awareness campaigns. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage with international environmental policy and communications logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Meeting Coverage: Support the development of in-house coverage for the Secretariat's annual Open-ended Working Group meetings and the annual Meetings of the Parties.
Campaign Development: Support the development of global communication campaigns to mark World Ozone Day and the 10th anniversary of the Kigali Amendment.
Logistical & Branding Support: Provide communications, branding, and logistical assistance for meetings held during the internship, specifically the Open-ended Working Group meeting in July and the Meeting of the Parties in November.
Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in environmental sciences, communications studies, or a related field.
Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in environmental sciences, communications studies, or a related field.
Your field of study must be closely related to the type of internship for which you are applying.
No professional work experience is required for the UN Internship Programme.
