Communications Intern

Role Overview

As a Communications Intern, you will work under the supervision of substantive experts to support the Secretariat's communication efforts, specifically surrounding major annual meetings and global awareness campaigns. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage with international environmental policy and communications logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Meeting Coverage: Support the development of in-house coverage for the Secretariat's annual Open-ended Working Group meetings and the annual Meetings of the Parties.
• Campaign Development: Support the development of global communication campaigns to mark World Ozone Day and the 10th anniversary of the Kigali Amendment.
• Logistical & Branding Support: Provide communications, branding, and logistical assistance for meetings held during the internship, specifically the Open-ended Working Group meeting in July and the Meeting of the Parties in November.

Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in environmental sciences, communications studies, or a related field.
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in environmental sciences, communications studies, or a related field.
• Your field of study must be closely related to the type of internship for which you are applying.
• No professional work experience is required for the UN Internship Programme.
