Job Description
Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979 as a national body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. KEMRI is seeking a Clinical Research Scientist to be based in Eldoret. The role involves the implementation and supervision of pre-clinical and clinical research projects, providing specialized clinical care for study participants, and contributing to scientific seminars and student mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Implementing pre-clinical and clinical research projects and/or supervising designated tasks.
General diagnosis, care, treatment, and provision of specialized clinical care for study participants.
Assisting in carrying out fieldwork and pre-clinical and clinical experimental procedures.
Carrying out experimental and/or developmental work.
Contributing to the interpretation and validation of results.
Conducting community diagnosis, care, and treatment during Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
Assisting in the organization of internal scientific seminars.
Guiding visiting scientific students and students on attachment.
Maintaining the scientific pre-clinical and clinical facility.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution (Mandatory).
Proficiency in computer applications (Mandatory).
Strong planning and organizational skills (Mandatory).
Excellent communication and reporting skills (Mandatory).
Strong interpersonal skills (Mandatory).
Creativity and innovativeness (Mandatory).
Critical thinking skills (Mandatory).
Must be a team player (Mandatory).
