Job Description
The Clinical Officer role at NHC Maisha (Ndonyo Healthcare) involves providing direct clinical services to patients, focusing on consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral, while strictly adhering to high standards of patient safety and clinical governance. This role requires the ability to work independently and deliver resourceful and effective care.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Attend to patients and prescribe necessary medicines as available in stock and the required investigations.
Whenever necessary, with the approval of the Head of Medical Services, carry out investigations and prescribe non-stock drugs.
Issue Medical Certificate for sickness or fitness to join duty as per prescribed procedure.
Assist Head of Medical Services whenever called upon to do so for any patient or hospital related work.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
Communicate effectively with patients and clients.
Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of patients.
Seek advice and assistance from the consultants with any assigned cases or issues that prove to be beyond the scope and professional competence in line with principles of best practice and clinical governance.
Any other clinical duty delegated by the management.
Qualifications and Attributes
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Diploma in Medicine and surgery.
Registered by the Clinical Officers’ Council.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to plan and deliver care in an effective and resourceful manner.
Valid licence.
