Clinical Officer

Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013. The 1979 Act established KEMRI as a National body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya. This position is for a Clinical Officer supporting clinical research, focusing particularly on cervical cancer prevention and care for women living with HIV.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical research data collection.
• Clinical management for cervical cancer prevention and women living with HIV.
• Support counseling as needed.
• Participate in screening, enrolment and follow up of study participants.
• Participate in general research and study specific seminars, awareness drives and educational activities.
• Generate and draft clinical/ study reports as may be required.
• Documentation of study procedures and findings.
• Participate in resolving clinical monitoring queries.
• Contribute to dissemination of research findings.
• Supporting training and capacity building activities for the team in the implementation of their roles and responsibilities.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Vacancy Requirements:

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Mandatory).
• Registration Certificate from the Clinical Officers’ Council (Mandatory).
