Job Description
Kenyatta University is seeking to recruit a Clerk Typist Grade III/IV to provide essential administrative and clerical support. The role entails managing front-office operations, handling communication, and maintaining organized records for the Chairman’s Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving and directing visitors to the office.
Handling incoming and outgoing mails.
Receiving and routing incoming telephone calls.
Drafting memos and official letters.
Maintaining and keeping the Chairman’s diary.
In charge of organized filing within the Chairman’s Office.
Ordering and issuing stationery from central stores and maintaining stock bins.
Safeguarding important departmental documents such as Work Instructions, Service Delivery Charters, and other University records.
Performing any other work-related tasks assigned by the Chairman.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of KCSE Grade D+ (plus) or equivalent.
Professional Certificate in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.
Certification in Office Practice II.
Certification in Office Management I.
Certification in Business English I.
At least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
Good communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
Must be computer literate.
Terms of Service
The terms include a basic salary and house allowance.
