The role of a Baseline Enumerator at Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) is a critical full-time position responsible for the collection of high-quality data for baseline studies conducted in Mombasa, Kenya. This role requires proficient use of digital data capture technologies and strict adherence to research standards.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
Data Collection & Capture:
- Conduct various forms of data collection, including household surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and key informant interviews (KIIs), utilizing standardized tools.
- Collect and upload data daily using mobile data collection platforms such as KoboCollect, ODK, or Survey CTO.
Data Quality & Accuracy:
- Ensure the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of all recorded responses.
- Verify entries thoroughly before submission to maintain high data integrity.
Ethical Conduct:
- Ensure ethical compliance by obtaining informed consent from all respondents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the information gathered.
- Adhere to organizational ethical research and safeguarding standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in conducting surveys or baseline studies.
- Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Community Development, Public Health, or a closely related field.
Required Skills:
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential.
- Demonstrated experience with mobile data collection platforms such as KoboCollect, ODK, or Survey CTO.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills.
