Job Description
The National Youth Service (NYS) is looking for Cadet Officers to serve as Corporate Communication Officers. These positions are offered on permanent and pensionable terms and include comprehensive medical coverage under the SHA Scheme of Civil Servants. Successful candidates will be part of the pride and backbone of the nation, helping youth discover and develop their potential. This role requires candidates to undergo mandatory paramilitary training.
Responsibilities
Manage and enhance the organization's corporate image and public relations.
Coordinate multimedia production, broadcast, and digital media activities.
Oversee journalism and film production related tasks within the service.
Implement communication strategies to promote NYS programs and initiatives.
Ensure compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya in all professional dealings.
Maintain high standards of discipline and physical fitness through paramilitary engagement.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Must be between 18 and 28 years of age.
Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Multimedia, Broadcast Production, Digital Media, and Film Production or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Must have no criminal record.
Must be medically fit.
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Successful candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College.
