The Business Operations Officer at Britam is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of client investment transactions across all products in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role supports operational integrity through reconciliations, suspense management, and effective stakeholder coordination. It also contributes to risk mitigation, reporting, and the continuous improvement of operational processes and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing: Process client transactions including subscriptions, redemptions, switches, and transfers in line with internal policies and SLA timelines.
Daily Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of client cash and units, ensuring timely resolution of any exceptions.
Data Management: Maintain updated and accurate client data across operational systems.
Suspense Management: Monitor and manage suspense accounts, ensuring timely allocation and ageing controls.
Reporting: Prepare operational reports for internal stakeholders and for regulatory compliance requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with custodians, banks, fund management, finance, and client-facing teams to resolve operational queries.
Process Improvement: Identify operational risks and contribute to process and automation improvements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in banking, asset management, financial operations, or a similar professional environment.
Professional certification (CIS, CFA, CPA or progress towards the same) will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
Good understanding of investment products, operational processes, and industry regulations.
