The Business Operations Assistant supports the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of client investment transactions across retail products in line with agreed SLAs. The role provides operational support in transaction processing, reconciliations, data maintenance, suspense management, and reporting, while developing capability in risk control, stakeholder coordination, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing: Assist in processing client transactions including subscriptions, redemptions, switches, and transfers in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and SLA timelines.
Reconciliations: Support daily reconciliations of client cash and units, escalating exceptions for timely resolution.
Data Management: Capture, update, and maintain accurate client data across operational systems and records.
Suspense Management: Support monitoring of suspense accounts, assisting with allocations and ageing follow-ups.
Reporting: Assist in preparing routine operational reports for internal review and regulatory support.
Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal teams (client service, finance, fund management) to support resolution of operational queries.
Compliance: Adhere to operational controls, risk management procedures, and compliance requirements.
Process Improvement: Participate in process reviews, system testing, and automation initiatives as assigned.
Documentation: Maintain proper documentation, filing, and audit trails for all processed transactions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 0–1 year experience in banking, asset management, financial services, or an operations environment (internship or attachment experience is acceptable).
Professional Certifications: Progress toward a professional qualification such as CFA or CPA is an added advantage.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of investment products, operational processes, and regulatory requirements, with a strong willingness to learn.
