Analabs is an ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory for Testing and a NEMA Approved Laboratory for Environmental testing services. We are seeking a Business Development Officer responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase company sales and profits, identifying profitable business opportunities, and securing sound business deals while adhering to company policies.
Role Purpose
Develop and execute strategies to increase company sales and profits.
Identify profitable business opportunities and secure sound business deals.
Lead business development associates while adhering to Analabs Policies.
Ensure a comprehensive client focus within the organization.
Maintain work relationships between Analabs and customers, suppliers, and other outsourced laboratory service providers.
Understand and implement the organization's strategic plans and management policies.
Offer leadership, mentorship, and supervision within the department.
Key Responsibilities
Identify prospective clients, sell the advantages of services offered, and follow up to close business deals.
Develop business proposals for new and existing customers.
Determine cross-selling opportunities among different client segments.
Develop and deliver pitches for potential customers.
Ensure sales targets are met and increase market share (new clients) and brand prepositioning.
Identify new market opportunities via market research and initiate contact.
Manage the planning and scheduling of business development activities.
Maintain a knowledge repository of clients, referrals, RFPs/RFQs, prospects, and presentations.
Manage department productivity and performance, achieving operating expense budget targets and other assigned KPIs.
Prepare the annual Business Development budget and track expenses against it.
Provide accurate budgetary sales projections and continuous tracking to ensure achievement.
Increase overall sales efficiency and profitability through excellent salesmanship.
Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to improve overall customer experience and satisfaction.
Build strong relationships with customers, outside business contacts, and company stakeholders.
Generate customer-specific sales presentations and implement a customer visitation schedule.
Ensure constant communication with specific customers or segments.
Identify, measure, and mitigate business-related risks.
Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization.
Stay up to date on company best practices, policies, services, pricing, and promotions.
Foster team spirit through a suitable coaching and working environment.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or a related Laboratory Science field from a recognized university.
More than 3 years of proven experience working as a Business Development Officer, Sales, Marketing, or a similar role.
Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent people skills.
Ability to travel to meet clients, attend conferences, and research new markets as needed.
