The Business Analyst will function as a critical bridge between business and technical teams. This role involves analyzing and evaluating business operations, requirements, and data to identify areas for improvement. The analyst will be responsible for creating reports and providing strategic recommendations designed to enhance business efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Gathering, Analysing, and Documenting Business Requirements (40%)
Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
Stay updated on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
Allocate resources and maintain cost efficiency during project implementation.
Ensure business requirements are accurately translated into working technical designs.
Prepare and maintain technical and user documentation for various software functionalities.
Prepare and maintain the product, service, and software catalogue introduced into the Bank for various purposes.
Identify any gaps or discrepancies between the current state of the business process/system and the desired future state.
Stakeholders Management and Communication (20%)
Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
Participate in analysis of user requirements, prototyping, and integration of technological components, testing, and deployment.
Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports.
Work closely with clients, vendors, technology, and managerial staff to collect requirements, analyze them, and translate them into technical specifications.
Ensure Quality and Compliant Implementation (25%)
Analyze and document business processes and translate these into functional specifications.
Provide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff on new products and services.
Stay closely involved with technical delivery/project to ensure deliverables adhere to the agreed design and do not negatively affect existing systems, services, or products.
Support the testing and implementation phase of the project by defining test cases and implementing quality control during testing.
Ensure a smooth transition from Development to Production.
Providing Ongoing Support and Continuous Improvement (15%)
Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategies.
Provide ongoing support by addressing user inquiries, evaluating enhancements or Change Requests, and monitoring the solution’s performance against defined requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest ways to optimize business operations.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline from a recognized institution.
At least 3 years of experience in business analysis and exposure to a project environment.
Possession of a Business Analysis or Project Management Certification.
Must be current technology savvy.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to capture, translate, and communicate software business requirements to various project stakeholders.
Knowledge in project management and Business Analysis.
Proficiency in Object Oriented Design and Analysis.
Knowledgeable in Quality Assurance for developed ICT products/services.
Understanding of Software engineering concepts and modelling techniques and methods.
The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
Excellent documentation skills with experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
