Job Description
Mondelez International is seeking a Brand Manager for a 12-month contract based in Nairobi. In this role, you will work with other internal stakeholders to support the brand portfolio strategy and priorities, enabling consumer-centric brand portfolio growth. You will develop annual plans, setting objectives and allocating resources, and offer recommendations for integrated commercial plans. Based on deep consumer insights and brand positioning, you will develop and implement integrated marketing communications and 360-degree campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Development of annual brand plans in the country aligned with the category strategy for P&L delivery with a monthly, quarterly, and annual horizon.
Brand Activation: Implement superior consumer and customer activation of agreed brand equity, renovation, and innovation (with a quarter, half-year, and annual outlook).
Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC): Implement IMC programs, working with BU category activation teams and agencies, driving local adaptation of brand communication.
Insight & Innovation: Collaborate with Equity & Innovation teams to develop insight-led and strategically relevant communication and innovation plans that drive brand health and category growth within the market.
Media Management: Drive media planning and buying with the local Media Manager and media agency.
Cross-functional Alignment: Ensure effective working relationships and alignment of category marketing plans with Regional Category Teams, Sales, Consumer Insights, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Financial Management: Monitor and measure business performance against KPIs (volume, revenue, profit, A&C spending, net contribution, and market share). Manage marketing budgets and improve ROI.
Market Analysis: Track pricing activities and market trends; drive the analysis of market information to evaluate executions, innovation, pricing, and competitors.
Requirements
Education: Relevant tertiary degree or diploma in Marketing or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role, with at least 24 months’ experience as a Brand Manager.
Industry Knowledge: FMCG experience is highly advantageous.
Functional Skills: Knowledge of Consumer, Shopper, and Trade Insights; Marketing Planning and Budget Management.
Strategic Execution: Demonstrated experience in applying strategic insights and translating strategies into execution plans.
Campaign Management: Demonstrated experience in managing 360-degree marketing campaigns from ideation to execution.
