This role is centered on driving revenue growth within the targeted business sector in Mombasa, enhancing the company's visibility and presence across the region, and creating strong stakeholder value. This is achieved by overseeing efficient resource utilization and maintaining a strong customer-centric focus throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Intermediary and Client Management: Manage relationships with intermediaries (brokers, banks, & independent agents) and clients to deliver targeted premium outputs across all CIC Group subsidiaries.
- Leadership and Strategy Implementation: Provide leadership and support to staff, sales, and marketing teams by driving the implementation of the corporate strategy through training and motivation to achieve organizational objectives.
- Business Promotion: Organize and represent the company in all relevant forums, such as cooperative societies AGMs, leaders’ meetings, and seminars, conducting business promotions in liaison with PR staff.
- Sales Operations Management: Handle pipeline business management, quotation processing, and transmitting them to intermediaries and clients within set Turnaround Times (TATs).
- Financial Compliance: Enforce credit control compliance and debt management standards.
- Service Delivery: Draw up and operationalize Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with intermediaries for differentiated service delivery and resolve all customer complaints/inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Branch Support & Standards: Adhere to inter-departmental service level standards in liaison with business leaders across all Group subsidiaries and support the daily branch operations, including sales processing, policy issuance, and claims handling.
- Retention: Conduct renewal follow-up to achieve the required renewal retention ratios.
- Business Development: Champion cross-selling for corporate and retail business and support the opening up of new markets and distribution channels, including local check-offs for Ordinary Life products.
- Human Resources: Identify and facilitate Branch staff resourcing requirements including recruitment, appraisal, career development, succession, and resource planning, in liaison with the People and Culture department.
- Market Monitoring: Coordinate all intermediary activities, monitor and provide market intelligence to help to identify potential for both business acquisition and strategic planning.
- Sales Team Growth: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team as well as grow their intermediary portfolio.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Generic Duties
- Carry out performance appraisal, coaching, and mentoring of staff.
- Participate in planning and budgeting for the department.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant Professional Qualification.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience in a similar position, with at least two (2) years at a supervisory level.
