Board Member at CBM Tanzania

CBM (Christoffel Blindenmission / Christian Blind Mission) is an international NGO dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the world’s poorest communities. In Tanzania, CBM partners with local organizations to deliver inclusive health and community development programmes.

CBM Tanzania is seeking a committed Board Member with expertise in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Program Management to strengthen its leadership team. This is a voluntary position offering the opportunity to contribute strategically to CBM Tanzania.

Role of the Board

The Board Member will be responsible for:

• Providing strategic guidance and expertise to advance CBM Tanzania’s mission.
• Ensuring strong governance, accountability, and compliance with Tanzanian law.
• Supporting strategic growth, financial planning, and fundraising efforts.
• Acting as an ambassador for CBM Tanzania within professional networks and the sector.

Time Commitment

• Quarterly Board Meetings (4 per year, approximately 2–3 hours each).
• Annual General Meeting and occasional strategy workshops.
• Occasional field visits and networking events.
• Estimated total commitment: 10 days per year.

Board terms are for three years, renewable once based on Board needs. The successful candidate must commit to CBM’s Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
