Job Description
The Makueni County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit four (4) Board Directors for the Mbooni Water and Sanitation Company Limited (MBONWASCO). This role involves providing strategic leadership, professional oversight, and high-level governance to ensure the delivery of quality water and sanitation services within the region. Directors are responsible for setting the company's strategic direction, ensuring financial sustainability, and maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide strategic leadership and direction to the company.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic plans and policies.
Oversee the company's financial management and ensure sustainability.
Ensure compliance with the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) guidelines and other relevant laws.
Represent the interests of stakeholders and the local community.
Uphold high standards of corporate governance and ethical leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Accounting/Finance, Engineering, Human Resource, Law, Business Systems, or Management Systems or any other professional field with relevant experience.
Must be a member in good standing with a relevant professional body.
Minimum of seven (7) years of working experience in your core profession or having managed a registered enterprise for at least seven (7) years.
Experience and training in Corporate Governance or the water-related sector is an added advantage.
Must meet the Leadership and Integrity criteria under Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010).
Must meet the "fit and proper" test criteria from WASREB.
Must be a resident of the area covered by Mbooni Water and Sanitation Company Limited (MBONWASCO).
Must not hold any political office or be a State Officer.
