Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III (Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology) - 5 Posts

The County Government of Kisumu is seeking five qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III, specializing in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology. This role offers permanent and pensionable terms of service.

Remuneration Package

• Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
• Basic Salary Scale: Ksh 27,900 - Ksh 36,680 per month
• House Allowance: Ksh 3,850 - Ksh 4,500 per month
• Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 per month
• Annual Leave: 30 working days
• Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service
• Medical Cover: As provided by the County Government of Kisumu

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities for ALL the Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III in this cadre will entail:

1. Deliver specialized training in accordance with approved curricula and established standards of instruction.
2. Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional aids.
3. Design, administer, and evaluate examinations and assignments to assess trainees’ knowledge, skills, and competencies.
4. Undertake research and innovation activities under the guidance and mentorship of a senior trainer to enhance instructional content and methodology.
5. Supervise trainees in the execution of projects, industrial attachments, and practical work to ensure the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts.

Requirements for Appointment

Applicants must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
• Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution:
  • Technical Education (Hair Dressing, and Beauty Therapy/ Cosmetology)
  • Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology Education/Technical Education
  • Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy/Cosmetology
• Have Registration with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET).
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Have fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.

Added Advantage:

• Training in Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculum will be an added advantage.
