Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III - Food and Beverages (2 Posts)

The County Government of Kisumu is seeking to hire Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainers, specializing in Food and Beverages. This is a permanent and pensionable role responsible for delivering specialized vocational training, developing instructional materials, assessing trainees, and supervising practical work in the Food and Beverage sector. Two posts are available.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities for ALL Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer III in this cadre entail:

1. Deliver specialized training in accordance with approved curricula and established standards of instruction.
2. Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional aids.
3. Design, administer, and evaluate examinations and assignments to assess trainees’ knowledge, skills, and competencies.
4. Undertake research and innovation activities under the guidance and mentorship of a senior trainer to enhance instructional content and methodology.
5. Supervise trainees in the execution of projects, industrial attachments, and practical work to ensure the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
• Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Technical Education (Food and Beverage); Food and Beverage; Education/Technical Education, Food and Beverage; or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
• Have Registration with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET).
• Have Training in Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculum.
• Have Proficiency in computer applications.
