Kisumu County is seeking to recruit a qualified Assistant Sanitation Engineer to join its public service team. The successful candidate will work under the County Government's mission to transform livelihoods through integrity, accountability, and quality service delivery. The role involves technical engineering tasks related to sanitation systems, including design, planning, and project management to ensure the effective provision of sanitation services within the county.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and planning of sanitation systems and infrastructure including sewers and treatment facilities.
Use engineering design software such as AutoCAD and WaterCAD for technical drawings and hydraulic modeling.
Monitor and supervise sanitation-related construction and maintenance projects to ensure quality and compliance.
Ensure engineering projects comply with environmental and safety regulations.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project updates for management.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of sanitation services.
Requirements for Appointment
Must be a Kenyan Citizen.
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Sanitation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Mandatory registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
A minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
Proficiency in computer applications and project management principles.
Specialized knowledge of design software, specifically AutoCAD and WaterCAD.
Additional Information
Candidates with foreign degrees must obtain authentication from the Commission for University Education (CUE).
Applicants should be prepared to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (Integrity) if successful.
