We are looking for an Area Sales Manager to drive sales performance and manage retail accounts. The role involves managing assigned retail accounts, securing openings, negotiating trade terms, and achieving monthly sales value targets. The successful candidate will strengthen customer relationships and expand SKU presence in existing accounts.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Management
Manage assigned retail accounts; secure openings, negotiate favourable trade terms, and achieve monthly sales value targets.
Conduct regular visits to strengthen customer relationships, resolve service issues, and expand SKU presence in existing accounts.
Promotion & Merchandising Execution
Coordinate with merchandising teams to implement approved promotions and activations; monitor in-store visibility, POS materials placement, and planogram compliance.
Track promotional performance, report on sales uplift and execution gaps, and support post-promotion analysis.
Finance & Compliance
Follow up on collections in line with approved credit policies; reconcile promotional claims, rebates, and discounts before submission to Finance.
Maintain accurate sales documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.
Reporting & Market Insights
Submit timely reports on sales performance, outlet growth, and competitor activities; provide actionable market intelligence and feedback to improve route-to-market and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FMCG sales, preferably in Modern Trade.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding regional sales targets.
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and digital reporting skills.
