We are looking for a highly competent agronomist to manage the crop science across both avocado and macadamia orchards. This is a hands-on role where the individual will be in the field daily, working alongside a dedicated field supervisor and coordinating closely with the Farm Operations Lead and CEO.\n\n### Key Deliverables\n\n#### Orchard Management — Avocado & Macadamia\n* Design and implement seasonal crop programmes for both orchards, including nutrition, pest and disease control, pruning, and orchard hygiene.\n* Conduct regular block-by-block scouting to assess tree health, pest pressure, disease incidence, and crop development stage.\n* Monitor flowering, fruit set, and fruit retention across all blocks, reporting findings systematically.\n* Coordinate with the irrigation system to align fertigation schedules with crop nutritional requirements at each growth stage.\n* Ensure all chemical and fertiliser applications are recorded accurately in the farm management system (product, rate, block, date, and purpose).\n\n#### Programme Monitoring & Outcome Reporting\n* Assess the effect of every input programme (fungicide, fertiliser, or micronutrient foliar) and report observable outcomes against intended purposes.\n* Track key indicators per block: pest and disease levels pre and post treatment, flowering-to-fruit conversion, and fruit size/condition.\n* Flag early when a programme is not delivering expected results and provide adjusted recommendations.\n* Contribute to monthly planning by providing a clear picture of orchard status.\n\n#### Export Compliance & Certification\n* Maintain all agronomic records required for GlobalGAP and MAAIF certification (spray records, scouting logs, pre-harvest intervals).\n* Ensure chemical use is compliant with export market MRL requirements (EU, UAE, and regional East Africa standards).\n* Support packhouse readiness by communicating harvest timing, expected quality, and compliance concerns.\n* Coordinate with the certification process and present field records during audits.\n\n#### Input Planning & Cost Awareness\n* Submit input requirements (chemicals, fertilisers, tools) in advance with quantities and purpose.\n* Prioritise expenditure that drives yield and quality within approved budgets.\n* Maintain accurate stock usage records for inventory and cost reconciliation.\n\n#### Supervisor & Field Team Coordination\n* Work with a dedicated field supervisor to deploy and direct casual labour for agronomic activities.\n* Ensure the field team understands application methods, safety protocols, and quality standards.\n* Coordinate daily priorities with the Farm Operations Lead to align with the broader field plan.\n\n### Professional Qualifications and Requirements\n* 5+ years of hands-on agronomic experience on a commercial export farm.\n* Direct experience with Hass avocado and/or macadamia is strongly preferred.\n* Proven experience with GlobalGAP certification requirements and export-standard compliance record-keeping.\n* Understanding of how field decisions affect export grading outcomes (post-harvest quality awareness).\n* Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Crop Science preferred; equivalent field experience considered.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the Career Options Africa Ltd portal at or via the application link:
