Our client in the Telecommunications sector seeks to recruit a Zonal Sales Manager based in Kakamega. The primary purpose of this role is to sell and manage the distribution of communication products and services, including Airtime, SIM Cards, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), and devices, to resellers and distributors within the assigned territory. The Zonal Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and facilitating the optimization of opportunities to drive sales as maximally and as efficiently as possible.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Targets: Achieve the Sales (Revenue) targets of the Territory for both Mobile and Mobile Financial Services (MFS).
Customer Acquisition: Achieve Customer Base targets via strategic acquisition drives.
Channel Management: Drive the channel-specific agenda in line with Company targets (ASOs, SSOs, Agencies).
Site Profitability: Achieve Site Profitability targets within the Territory via site-based activities and programs.
Team Leadership: Oversee and drive the people capability agenda across all levels, including TDRs, DSAs, and Commandoes.
Service Standards: Ensure customer expectations regarding standard of services and product knowledge are met, both in-store and at partner locations.
Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and prepare counter-action plans.
Reporting: Prepare and submit reports as required.
Deliverables
Partner Management: Ensuring channel partners are engaged and effectively driving brands on the ground.
Sales Targets: Delivering assigned sales targets on revenues, airtime, gross additions, data, and devices.
Field Team Management: Managing the output of field agents and partner teams (DSAs, Commandoes) in line with business objectives.
Visibility: Ensuring partner outlets, trade, and general market visibility.
Availability: Ensuring availability of products and services within the assigned market areas.
Reporting: Consistent sharing of required reports.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2 - 3 years’ experience in a sales and distribution role within the Telecommunications or FMCG sector.
