This is an entry and training grade for this cadre within the Water Resources Authority (WRA). An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. The Enforcement and Compliance Function is responsible for the implementation of regulations, as well as the development and review of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. This role is essential for ensuring the equitable and sustainable allocation of national water resources through the enforcement of the Water Act 2026 and Water (Resources) Regulations 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
Regulation Tracking: Monitoring the implementation of water regulations, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Enforcement Identification: Actively identifying areas within water resource management that require enforcement actions.
Compliance Documentation: Documenting the nature and details of non-compliance activities meticulously.
Complaint Management: Receiving and documenting complaints from the public and stakeholders.
Record Keeping: Updating and maintaining an accurate and up-to-date complaints register.
Job Specifications and Requirements
Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in any of the following disciplines:
Hydrology
Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering
Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
Geology
Geoinformatics
Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
Or an equivalent qualification.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in computer applications is mandatory.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months, thereafter converting to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
