The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing efficient Capital Markets in Kenya.
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for volunteers to conduct investor education speaking engagements targeting the general public, particularly at the County level, over a period of twenty-four (24) months on a part-time basis.
Objective: The main objective of this initiative is to increase awareness and participation in the capital markets by effectively engaging the various target groups. This is in line with one of the Capital Markets Authority’s mandate to promote investor education and public awareness throughout the Country.
Compensation: A small stipend will be given for each engagement subject to terms and conditions.
Qualifications and Attributes
Applicants should meet the following minimum criteria:
Education: A minimum qualification of BA/BSc/HND.
Community Focus: Must be passionate about giving back to society at the grassroots level.
Market Knowledge: Familiarity with various aspects of the capital markets in Kenya.
Presentation Skills: Some experience with events management and public speaking.
Group Engagement: Must be comfortable dealing with groups of approximately 30 people or more.
Investment Exposure: Must have personally invested, or possess a keen interest, in shares and Bonds listed within the Nairobi Securities Exchanges and in Collective Investments Schemes (Unit Trusts).
