Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) is seeking a qualified Vocational and Technical Trainer (Grade CSG10/JG 'K') specializing in Pharmacy. This role involves delivering technical training at the Diploma or Higher National Diploma level, preparing students for the pharmaceutical industry through both theoretical instruction and practical pedagogy. The trainer will be responsible for fostering a conducive learning environment, ensuring curriculum standards are met, and mentoring students towards professional excellence.
Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality vocational and technical training in Pharmacy and related pharmaceutical technology fields.
Prepare and implement training lesson plans and instructional materials.
Conduct student assessments, including theoretical exams and practical laboratory evaluations.
Monitor and report on student progress and performance.
Supervise practical training sessions and laboratory work to ensure safety and adherence to industry standards.
Participate in curriculum review and development to ensure alignment with TVET CDACC standards.
Provide guidance and mentorship to students on career pathways and professional ethics.
Maintain accurate student and instructional records.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
Relevant teaching experience of at least two (2) years at the Diploma or Higher National Diploma level.
Practical industry experience in the pharmaceutical sector is an added advantage.
Being a registered and/or licensed member with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) is an added advantage.
Certification as a Trained Trainer/Assessor by TVET CDACC is an added advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Pedagogy and practical experience in the relevant niche area will be an added advantage.
Professional certifications or membership in relevant professional bodies is desirable.
