Job Description
Role Overview
The Tutorial Fellow (Grade XI) in Curriculum and Instruction is an entry-level academic position for Master's degree holders. The primary purpose of this role is to teach undergraduate students and engage in research activities that influence theory and practice within the specified field of study. This position is offered on contract terms.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Instruction: Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research and Publication: Lead and manage teams in conducting individual or collaborative research. Disseminate research findings through publishing peer-reviewed outputs and presenting at national and international learned conferences.
Student Mentorship: Supervise, advise, and mentor postgraduate students and their research.
Resource Mobilization: Write proposals for research and development funding.
Policy and Leadership: Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies and lead/coordinate research activities in subject areas.
Collaboration: Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development and review of academic programs.
Career Development: Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition, and career development in their specialization.
Academic Administration: Participate in examination preparation, administration, management, and the administration of departmental programs and activities.
Outreach: Undertake community outreach activities and provide leadership in the department or school where appropriate.
Continuous Learning: Attend and participate in research conferences and seminars.
Job Specifications and Requirements
Evidence of registration for a PhD program.
An earned Master's Degree and a Bachelor's degree from an accredited and recognized University.
At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles.
Be registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable) and in good standing.
Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement.
Relevant knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
