The role of the Technical Assistant is to provide essential help and support by carrying out simple logistical and maintenance tasks across the delegation facilities and residences of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Accountabilities & Functional Responsibilities
- Load and offload materials for seminars and field trips, including setting up equipment.
- Support the relocation of residences and offices when necessary.
- Set up rooms for conferences and meetings in the delegation.
- Be responsible for refueling, checking oil and water, and maintaining fuel records for the generators.
- Check the water pump and gas supply.
- Deliver orders to the residences and offices.
- Undertake printing room and storekeeping duties in the absence of designated staff.
- Take inventory of residential items.
- Manage the collection of uniforms from various departments for laundry and returning them to respective departments.
- Support other departments in departmental inventory.
Professional Requirements and Experience
- Minimum Diploma/Certificate in any related field or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Previous working experience with International Organizations (preferred).
- Good written and spoken English.
- Attention to detail and meticulous use of proper safety procedures.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
