The Team Leader – Direct Sales Representative for the Western Region is responsible for driving regional business growth through customer acquisition and retention across various banking lines, including deposits, lending, cards, and agent banking. This role involves strategic planning, performance management, and leading a team to achieve set targets while maintaining strict adherence to operational risk controls, KYC guidelines, and regulatory procedures.
Principle Accountabilities
Business Planning and Growth
Drive Regional set targets through customer growth and retention across all lines: deposits, lending, Cards, Agent banking, and NFI.
Focus on deposit mobilization and drive cheap deposits to reduce the cost of funds.
Plan, drive, and monitor the Regional Branch sales strategies through segment focus and customer focus needs-based selling.
Develop and refine Regional sales toolkits, client materials, and training to reflect the various target propositions.
Performance Management: Run daily, weekly, and monthly reviews with the sales staff to ensure the teams are constantly engaged and ahead of targets.
Manage cost and revenue generation effectively.
Operational Risk Controls and Procedures
Implement processes to prevent mis-selling, misrepresentation, fraud, and ensure adherence to customer data confidentiality principles.
Ensure the team adheres to all KYC guidelines and procedures, complying with local regulatory requirements and best practices.
Ensure the team complies with all applicable money laundering prevention procedures and reports any suspicious activity to the Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer.
Track and monitor Turn Around Time (TAT) for the segment and work with stakeholders to ensure targets are met.
People Management & Administration
Manage the sales staff by providing ongoing individual coaching and training to ensure achievement of sales goals, member retention, and deepening member relationships.
Conduct continuous review and appraisal of sales staff performance and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
Implement effective HR standards and strategies, manage succession plans, and retain key talent through constant discipline in performance management.
Motivate, coach, and energize the branch staff positively to deliver the best results.
Cultivate a team culture that enhances support for each other to ensure overall productivity.
Arrange, conduct, or recommend appropriate training for branch staff to enable them to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently.
Ensure discipline and adherence to the staff code of ethics by sales staff.
Manage planned leave schedules and execution for branch sales staff.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales management within the Banking Industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of banking operations.
Key Competencies and Skills
Computer/IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
General knowledge of banking processes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints effectively and timely.
Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organization, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
