Deloitte Consulting is seeking a Tax Senior Associate within the Business Tax service line. The primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of designated client engagement projects and manage the implementation of agreed deliverables. The successful candidate will work under guidance to provide high-quality tax services, maintain regulatory relationships, and contribute to the growth of the tax function.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Engagement Delivery: Support the delivery of designated tax engagements and projects under guidance, ensuring the implementation of all agreed deliverables.
Business Development: Assist in the preparation of proposals, tenders, and presentations for prospective and existing clients.
Innovation: Collaborate with team members to generate innovative solutions on projects and engagements to enhance or renew service offerings.
Knowledge Management: Assist in developing and maintaining technical knowledge of current tax matters across the tax function.
Quality & Ethics: Deliver client services in accordance with Deloitte's standards, policies, and ethical principles.
Data & Insights: Collect, assimilate, and analyze relevant data using standard tools and data visualizations to surface insights and solutions.
Product Development: Support the development and marketing of new tax products.
Risk Management: Carry out tax risk and opportunity reviews for clients.
Drafting: Prepare tax opinions, tax advice, and detailed tax computations.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
KRA Liaison: Liaise with the KRA on various tax and policy matters and assist clients in resolving KRA audits and statement of account issues.
Appeals & Publications: Prepare objections and appeals to KRA assessments and draft tax publications or articles on relevant tax matters.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce, Economics, or Law.
Experience: At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a tax or accounting environment.
Certification: Professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA).
