The Tax Consultant – Business Tax ensures that client and Firm’s expectations are met by delivering high-quality services and maintaining high utilization levels. The role involves managing tax engagements, providing technical tax advice, and supporting clients through regulatory processes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of designated Tax engagements/projects and manage the implementation of agreed deliverables.
Carry out tax health checks and reviews, including the preparation of tax opinions and income tax computations.
Assist clients in resolving Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) audits and statement of account issues.
Prepare formal objections and appeals regarding KRA assessments.
Generate innovative solutions on projects/engagements in collaboration with team members to enhance or renew service offerings.
Maintain and develop knowledge on current tax matters across the Tax function.
Deliver client service according to relevant Deloitte standards, policies, and ethical principles.
Collect, assimilate, and analyze relevant data using standard tools and data visualizations to surface insights and solutions.
Support the development and marketing of products and client offerings.
Build and maintain relationships with clients and relevant government ministries.
Liaise with the KRA and relevant government ministries on expectations and policy matters.
Assist in the preparation of proposals, tenders, and presentations for clients.
Prepare tax publications and write articles on relevant tax matters.
Requirements and Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce, Economics, or Law.
At least 4 years of experience in a relevant tax or professional services role.
Professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA.
