We are seeking a professional Tailor to perform clothing alteration, repair, and tailoring services to meet customer needs and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Alterations & Repairs: Execute a range of professional alteration services, including resizing, hemming, mending, replacing buttons, and other garment adjustments.
Fitting: Measure and fit garments for clients efficiently and accurately to ensure precision in tailoring.
Restoration: Repair and restore damaged or worn clothing, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Material Handling: Handle a variety of fabrics and garment types, including uniforms, specialty clothing, and personal garments, using appropriate tailoring techniques.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain sewing machines, irons, and other tailoring tools and equipment accurately and safely.
Workspace Management: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure the efficient completion of tasks.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, providing tailoring advice, and ensuring client satisfaction with their orders.
Reporting: Follow established procedures and policies, including maintaining records of completed work and garment inventory.
Deadline Management: Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines to accommodate the tailoring and alteration schedule for customers.
Requirements
Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in clothing alteration, repair, and tailoring services.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in the use of sewing machines, irons, and common tailoring tools.
Strong understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and fabric properties.
Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Strong customer service and communication skills, with proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Must possess a valid passport (valid for a minimum of one year at the time of hiring) and be able to travel internationally.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain them for the duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.
Experience tailoring uniforms and specialty garments in a military or government setting.
Familiarity with tailoring specific to military dress standards and requirements.
Knowledge of maintaining and repairing sewing equipment.
