We are seeking a Systems Engineer for the Public Sector to lead all technical aspects of a sales cycle, from initial RFIs through to RFPs and RFQs. This role requires the ability to listen and understand customer technical requirements to build solutions that outperform competitor offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all technical aspects of a sales cycle with Public Sector customers, including participation in RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
- Manage and actively participate in Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) in partnership with internal teams and customer/commercial partners.
- Understand technical requirements and design solutions that outperform competitors.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and partners in close collaboration with sales partners.
- Support the vertical sales plan by assisting SEs, Team Leads, Account Managers, and SEMs.
- Assist with Proof-of-Concepts involving setup and configuration of Fortinet and associated technologies.
- Prepare and conduct product demonstrations, both virtual and face-to-face, for SEs and Account Managers.
- Support sales opportunities through white-boarding, discussing, and presenting products and solutions to customers and partners.
Requirements and Qualifications
- BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field.
- High aptitude for security technology in network, endpoint, and application areas.
- Current or previous experience in a pre-sales engineer role, managing end-to-end technical aspects of deals through to technical closure.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and impact on key wins.
- Ability to build and maintain customer and partner relationships and communicate technically to various stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies such as encryption, authentication, network security, intrusion prevention, malware protection, routing, switching, and LAN/WAN.
- Experience in WAN Edge, Core, and the ISP market.
- Strong understanding of SDWAN, SDN, Cloud Security, Virtualization, and NFV.
- Ability to address complex challenges and design solutions for secure, resilient, and compliant operations.
- Familiarity with technologies and protocols such as RADIUS, PKI, IKE, Certificates, L2TP, IPSEC, FIREWALL, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA1, DES, and 3DES.
- Knowledge of competitive solutions (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HPE, Palo Alto Networks).
- Fluency in English is a must.
- Professional accreditations like NSE8, CCIE, or CISSP are highly beneficial.
