Role Overview
The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, staging, and distributing merchandise across various departments within the facility. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory levels, managing store replenishment, adhering to food safety procedures, and ensuring general sanitation of storage spaces, particularly within food-related areas.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandise Management: Receive, stage, and appropriately mark merchandise by department for placement in the facility. Stack received goods on pallets or carts and deliver them to designated departments.
Inventory Control: Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies, and proactively notify the manager/supervisor of low stock levels.
Quality & Safety Inspection: Receive and properly store perishable items, ensuring appropriate stock rotation. Inspect incoming deliveries to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and overall quality, and refuse damaged or incorrect items.
Food Safety & Sanitation: Adhere to food safety and handling policies across all food-related areas. Clean and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, food equipment, floors, and drains.
Waste Management: Maintain organized storage spaces by removing empty pallets, cardboard, and trash, putting them in designated storage areas.
Requirements
Education: Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in store management roles, preferably within a 5-star Hotel environment.
