Job Description
Kempinski Hotels S.A., Europe's oldest luxury hotel group, is seeking a Store Clerk to join our team in Nairobi. The Store Clerk is responsible for managing the hotel's storerooms, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed, and maintaining the integrity of the inventory system. The role involves professional conduct, precise data entry, and meticulous organization of goods to support the hotel's purchasing and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Adherence: Follow and understand all Kempinski Policies & Procedures and maintain professional conduct according to the Kempinski code of conduct.
Inventory Management: Enter issued goods into the system, maintain proper labeling (including names and dates), and monitor corresponding par levels.
Goods Issuance: Issue goods in a timely manner against authorized requisitions and review/record any goods issued after hours.
Store Maintenance: Ensure all storerooms are locked, supervised, organized, and clean at all times.
Reporting & Monitoring: Alert supervisors on dead or slow-moving stock and communicate any discrepancies or potential problems promptly.
Stock Takes: Conduct regular inventories of storerooms within stipulated guidelines.
Additional Support: Perform additional duties assigned by Management and assist in other areas of Purchasing as needed.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Technical Skills: Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products and accounting software.
Soft Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, team player with strong interpersonal skills.
Operational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle high volumes and pay close attention to detail.
Work Ethics: Applies a professional, confidential, and ethical approach at all times.
Resilience: Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Purchasing and Supplies, Supply Chain Management or any related field.
At least 2 years’ experience in storekeeping, inventory control in hospitality industry.
