Specialist, Trade

The Specialist, Trade role involves managing and delivering the entire scope of Trade Finance solutioning for a designated portfolio of Local, Pan-African, and Multi-national clients spanning all key sectors within the Corporate Investment Bank (‘CIB’) unit. The primary objective is to lead the development of relevant solutions for the client franchise in Kenya.

This solutioning is strategically designed to optimally address clients’ unique requirements concerning risk management and working capital financing, thereby achieving critical revenue targets and reinforcing the CIB brand as the leading institution for Trade Finance solutions in Kenya.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in any field. A Masters degree in any field is preferred.

Required Attributes & Skills:

• Seasoned expertise in financial analysis.
• Advanced credit risk management skills specific to corporate lending.
• Trade Finance certification.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Experience Required

A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.

Specific Experience:

• General banking experience, with at least 10 years’ experience, the majority of which must have been garnered in corporate lending.
• Demonstrated working knowledge in financial analysis and core credit risk management principles.
• Significant Trade Finance experience, primarily gained in a Sales or Transactor capacity.
• Proven experience in designing and executing Trade/Lending Structures (both on and off-balance sheet), with a strong preference for experience handling complex products/programs such as Structured Trade and Supply chain finance.
• Multi-sectoral knowledge covering key sectors of the national economy.
