The Commission for University Education is seeking a Senior Security Assistant. The officer will be responsible for supporting the Commission in maintaining a secure environment for its personnel, facilities, and assets. This involves identifying security risks, investigating incidents, and coordinating with external security providers.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying security needs regarding office premises, staff, facilities, assets, and operations, and designing measures to address risks or threats.
Ensuring confidentiality in reports on security issues.
Investigating all security incidents and liaising with the outsourced security firm.
Maintaining comprehensive security records.
Preventing unauthorized personnel from gaining access to restricted areas.
Detecting illicit activities and surveying office premises for any threats.
Preparing and submitting written reports on security threats.
Monitoring duty shifts and security reinforcement by liaising with the outsourced security firm.
Arranging for security backups.
Requirements and Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
At least four (4) years of relevant work experience.
A Diploma in Criminology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 (Integrity).

Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
