AGL (Africa Global Logistics), the reference multimodal logistics operator in Africa and part of the MSC family, is seeking a Security Controller for the AGL SEZ. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and safety of company operations, assets, and personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, preventing loss, and managing security protocols in a demanding multimodal logistics environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities within the premises.
Implement measures to prevent theft and damage to Company property and client cargo.
Oversee the management and regular rotation of sub-contracted security guards to ensure maximum alertness and performance.
Ensure all reported incidents are logged accurately in the occurrence book and reported to relevant stakeholders with appropriate follow-up actions.
Lead incident investigations and collaborate with local law enforcement regarding alleged intrusions or cargo-related crimes, following cases to their legal conclusion.
Enforce strict adherence to security procedures by all employees and clients within the company premises.
Monitor and ensure that all access points and control rooms are adequately manned at all times.
Manage and maintain technical security systems including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, ensuring all tools and equipment are in optimal working condition.
Maintain and secure records for all main door keys.
Verify that all items exiting the premises are accompanied by valid authorization documents and gate passes.
Manage the relationship with the subcontracted Security Company on-site.
Provide security awareness training and procedural guidance to employees.
Requirements
A relevant University Degree, Diploma, or professional certification in Security or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in a busy, demanding, and high-stakes work environment.
Strong investigative and analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and detail.
Proficiency in managing technical security equipment and personnel.
