Job Description
The Senior Legal Officer at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) reports to the Legal Manager and is responsible for managing legal risks across the firm's various service lines. This includes reviewing and negotiating complex client agreements, ensuring compliance with both internal risk standards and local laws.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Negotiation and Management: Reviewing, revising, and negotiating requests for proposals (RFPs), non-standard client agreements for Assurance, Advisory, and Tax Lines of Service, master services agreements, engagement letters, subcontracts, and non-disclosure agreements.
Legal Advisory: Providing legal advice consistent with the firm’s risk management standards while considering applicable legal, regulatory, and professional standards.
Risk and Policy Compliance: Carrying out gap analysis between the firm’s risk management framework and local laws, ensuring that supplemental policies are drafted and implemented accordingly.
Reporting: Reporting directly to the Legal Manager and performing duties on a time-sensitive basis.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background: A Bachelor of Law (LLB) Degree.
Professional Qualification: Must be qualified to practice in a Sub-Saharan African country.
Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of total experience, with at least three years of specific prior experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
