Senior Internal Auditor (MNT 13)

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of financial and operational processes within the university.
• Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems.
• Monitor compliance with institutional policies, laws, and regulations.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and actionable recommendations for management.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and verify improvements.
• Demonstrate merit and ability through consistent work performance and quality results.

Requirements for Appointment

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the grade of Internal Auditor or a comparable role.
• Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business Administration).
• Professional registration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), or another recognized professional body.
• Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution.
• Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Application Mandatory Clearances

Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide valid clearance certificates from the following bodies:

• Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Certificate of Good Conduct)
