ManPower Services Group is a multinational human resource consulting firm seeking a Payroll Accountant Cum General Cashier. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and managing the company's cash transactions and records, specifically within the hospitality or service industry.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management: Process monthly payroll accurately and on time; calculate and remit statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Housing Levy, etc.).
Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll costs with the general ledger and investigate variances.
Record Keeping: Maintain payroll records, reports, and audit schedules; handle payroll queries professionally and confidentially.
Process Improvement: Recommend and implement payroll process improvements for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
System Support: Support payroll system upgrades or changes, including testing and user training where required.
Cashiering Operations: Collect all Front Office/Outlets Cashiers' remittance envelopes from the drop safe with an assigned witness and verify them against daily witness sheets and computerized reports from Protelair.
Banking: Prepare bank deposits of all cheques and cash, and ensure that all cash collections are deposited intact on a daily basis.
Petty Cash Management: Disburse approved petty cash requests; process approved vouchers and reimbursements to Front Office Cashiers.
Month-end Closing: Ensure all petty cash expenditure is posted accurately and fully reimbursed before the close of each month.
Reporting: Reconcile deposit/shift drop amounts with cash register totals, foreign exchange reports, and transaction records; prepare the General Cashier's Daily Report.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Certification: CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in payroll accounting and cash management.
Industry Knowledge: Hospitality or service-industry experience is preferred.
Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with payroll systems, statutory deductions, and reconciliations.
