We are seeking a Senior Cashier to oversee cash handling activities, maintain high-level customer service, and ensure compliance with established protocols within the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program.
Responsibilities
Cash Handling and Deposits
Bag and deposit cash and equivalents along with the Daily Activity Report (DAR) in the MWR central cashier’s night depository or Central Cashier cage.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions to ensure compliance with accounting and reporting standards.
Ensure all cash handling and deposit activities comply with CNICINST 1710.3 and Government-approved procedures.
Customer Engagement
Provide excellent customer service by interacting with patrons in an enthusiastic and responsive manner.
Communicate fluently and clearly in English with patrons to address inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
Compliance and Safety
Maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Handle and store hazardous materials in compliance with Navy standards.
Enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for all staff and patrons.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (KCSE).
Minimum of 2 years of cashiering experience, preferably in a supervisory or senior role in retail, food service, or recreational settings.
Proficiency in handling financial transactions and completing accurate records/reports.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain it shortly after hire.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for deployment.
Familiarity with Navy MWR Star Service or equivalent training is an advantage.
